A little about me…

Hi I’m Jake Istvan, a published artistic nude photographer, based in Birmingham, UK. I’ve been practicing for the last 14 years, but throughout my life I’ve always held a strong sentiment towards photography and the arts, particularly nude photography.

Through my experience, I’ve experimented with various classical styles including black and white, sepia and colour nudes, whilst implementing elements such as textures and natural light to capture authentic beauty. I also appreciate and explore landscape and long exposure photography.

Besides being skilled in the aspect of photography, I am also proficient in using Photoshop; using it to create surreal, dark and fantasy digital photo manipulations. Artistic nude photography goes beyond a casual hobby, it has provided me with a career that allows for travel and gives me the opportunity to not only see, but capture human nature as it is.

When beginning my journey into artistic nude photography, I started with nothing but a basic camera and very little experience, but my creativity was ignited through taking inspiration from prominent artists and other photographers such as Rembrant and Helmut Newton, alongside the accomplished tutors I’ve met through travelling. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with many globally acclaimed models such as Rebecca Tun and Cariad Celis. These inspirations and connections have made my art what it is today and I’ll continue to be grateful for their presence within my artistic journey.

Over the years, my photography has also had the privilege of being published by 1x.com’s renowned online gallery. And my consistency has also earned me numerous prestigious Front-Page Image Awards on the photography and model networking site purpleport.com with many front page features.

Regardless of the nature of the project, I dedicate my time and maximise my full potential to deliver aesthetically appealing results that evoke raw emotion from any artist or observer.

When I’m not perfecting my art, you’ll find me spending quality time with my lovely family and adorable cat, or having a slice of cake and hot chocolate in a coffee shop.
